GlobalSign Integrates High-Assurance Digital Certificate Issuance Services with Microsoft Azure Key Vault

14 November 2016

Users are able to issue high volumes of SSL/TLS certificates directly through the Key Vault service

GMO GlobalSign (www.globalsign.com), a leading provider of identity and security solutions for the Internet of Everything (IoE), announced it has integrated its hosted digital certificate issuance service with Microsoft Azure Key Vault to protect customer’s data stored in the cloud.

“We are thrilled to extend our relationship with Microsoft to include Key Vault integration,” said Doug Beattie, Vice President of Product Management at GlobalSign. “The integration of GlobalSign’s hosted certificate services (CA) with Azure Key Vault gives our joint customers the benefit of managing certificates, cryptographic keys and secrets in a secure manner for their cloud applications.”

Azure Key Vault safeguards cryptographic keys and other secrets used by cloud apps and services. Developers can request and issue high volumes of GlobalSign high-assurance certificates through their Azure account. Certificate management is made easy and certificates are automatically renewed through GlobalSign before they expire. Key Vault directly integrates with GlobalSign’s Managed SSL API, so when Azure users enter their GlobalSign API credentials, the Key Vault service will use those credentials to secure all of the user’s web servers.

“Microsoft Azure Key Vault securely stores and manages cryptographic keys, certificates and other secrets, giving IT security administrators full control of their company’s sensitive data,” said Nicole Herskowitz, Senior Director of Product Marketing at Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Corp. “We are pleased to work with GlobalSign to ease certificate creation and management in an enterprise environment.”

Benefits of using GlobalSign hosted CA services with Microsoft Azure Key Vault:

  • Robust range of SSL assurance levels and configuration options – GlobalSign offers a range of high assurance SSL options (OV and EV Certificates) with multi-domain (SAN) support, private hierarchies, and internal or special use case certificates.
  • Instantly create encryption keys within minutes – Domains are pre-vetted, allowing customers to instantly issue certificates to their Key Vault with a click of a button.
  • Superior customer support – GlobalSign has local language support and provides excellent customer support.
