CA/Browser Forum Updates

The CA/B Forum is a voluntary organization comprising leading Certificate Authorities (CAs) such as GlobalSign, and vendors of internet browser software, including Google Chrome and Apple Safari. Since its inception in 2006, the Forum has established industry standards based on best practices. These standards enhance the use of TLS certificates, benefiting all internet users by securing their communications.

In line with the CA/B Forum, the maximum validity period for Code Signing Certificates will be reduced from 39 Months to 460 days. GlobalSign is implementing this change to enhance security by shortening the lifespan of certificates. This reduction minimizes the window of exposure to potential vulnerabilities that may arise from outdated or compromised certificates.
