Challenge
When it comes to digital processes, companies attach great importance to saving costs and time. This also includes the electronic signing process of documents, both internally and with external parties. With conclusive electronic signatures like the advanced electronic signature (AES), a clear authentication of the signer’s identity is required by law. Ensuring this, however, has always been a costly and time-consuming hurdle for organizations, especially when there are many employees working at a company.
Skribble, a globally operating Swiss-based provider of electronic signatures, simplifies the signing process for organizations with its innovative eSignature platform and saves companies an enormous amount of time. Until recently, the electronic signing process was either secure but entailed a cumbersome procedure, or it was easy but it compromised security. We found other providers just focused on one or the other. GlobalSign, however, understands the need for both – simplicity and security.

Using the simple REST API, GlobalSign’s Digital Signing Service (DSS) was easily integrated into Skribble’s existing software. This permits Skribble to offer the “AES for Business” service, a digital document signing platform geared towards small- and medium-sized businesses. The services enable companies to provide advanced electronic signatures (AES) to any number of employees, easily and efficiently. An AES is legally valid for all types of contracts where the law does not prescribe a special format, e.g. a purchase and agreement, offers or different employment contracts.
With GlobalSign’s cloud-based Digital Signing Service individual employees or even entire departments can simply be added with each signature request. This is done by a request against the API, where new certificates are created in the background, without having to store, manage or reissue these. This is a great time and costs-saving feature for customers.
In addition, GlobalSign offers Skribble customers the ability to use already existing onboarding processes, to enable employees to sign electronically - for example, when companies verify an employee’s identity through ID checks during the hiring process. This was especially beneficial during the recent home office wave, where fast onboarding onto electronic signatures was required for many businesses in order to stay operational. The problem of proving the identity of signers within an organization is easily managed with GlobalSign’s signing certificates.
