IRS IDES Enrollment Requirements
The IRS' International Data Exchange Service (IDES) is an electronic delivery point where Financial Institutions (FI) and Host Country Tax Authorities (HCTA) can transmit and exchange FATCA data with the United States.
IDES transmits data securely. The sender encrypts the data and IDES encrypts the transmission pathway to protect your transfers. It runs in all major browsers, including Chrome, Internet Explorer, Safari, and Firefox.
To enroll in IDES, The IDES enrollment website lists 3 requirements to obtain a Username and Password:
- Your Foreign Financial Institution GIIN or Host Country Tax Authority Username
- A valid email address from your FI or HCTA
- An Authorized Security Certificate
An OrganizationSSL Certificate fulfills the Authorized Security Certificate requirement.
