ZNetLive Implements GlobalSign’s Automated CloudSSL Solutions to Secure More Shared Hosting Customers, More Cost-Effectively

GlobalSign solution allows hosting of multiple SSL Certificates on a single IP address, meeting need for increased security in the rapidly-growing web hosting market

Boston, MA - April 01 2014 - GlobalSign (, one of the longest established Certification Authorities (CA) and specialists in SSL Partner Programs, today announced that ZNetLive, one of India’s leading web hosting providers, has implemented its CloudSSL and Server Name Indication (SNI) solution to bundle SSL security with all of their shared hosting packages, enabling the mass deployment of SSL security without requiring additional IP resources.

Traditionally, SSL Certificates, which provide identity verification and encryption, have required a dedicated IP address, making it difficult for hosting companies to respond to growing requirements for SSL security. Faced with the decreasing availability of IPv4 addresses, ZNetLive leveraged GlobalSign’s latest technology to capitalize on the increasing demand, while lowering the cost of SSL Certificates for its customers by running multiple certificates on a single IP address, at no detriment to security or browser and operating system compatibility.

“GlobalSign’s CloudSSL & SNI solution will enable us to increase our SSL customer base by at least 55%,” said Munesh Singh, CEO and Founder, ZNetLive. “Our priority will be to continue to educate our customers on the issues of online security and we are pleased to be able to facilitate access to the SSL technology for all of our hosted customers.”

By leveraging the SNI technology, each website hosted on the shared IP can now have its own SSL Certificate, from basic Domain Validated to the most advanced Extended Validation Certificates. Each domain is then also added to a fall-back multi domain CloudSSL Certificate to enable full compatibility with older systems. After a one-time configuration, the process is fully automated by a GlobalSign application which creates, installs, validates and updates the CloudSSL Certificate as new websites need to be added or removed.

“Our solution was designed to break down the barriers of reselling SSL by addressing operational complexities,” said Paul van Brouwershaven, Business Development Director, GlobalSign. “By enabling multiple SSL Certificates to be hosted on a single IP, GlobalSign and ZNetLive aim to increase the usage of SSL Certificates so that end customers can fully benefit from the SSL opportunity without having to spend money on dedicated IP adresses.”
