GlobalSign Customer, DNA Ltd, Honored as Best B2B Identity Project at KuppingerCole EIC 2015

Finnish telecommunications group and leading cable operator recognized for launch of “MyCompany” portal allowing customers to self-provision services faster and more cost-effectively using GlobalSign IAM technology

BOSTON, MA – May 27, 2015 – GMO GlobalSign (, a leading provider of identity services for online transactions and the security division of Tokyo-based GMO Internet, today announced that its customer DNA Ltd, a large European cable and mobile services provider, was honored by analyst firm KuppingerCole with a European Identity & Cloud (EIC) Award as Best B2B Identity Project at the 9th annual EIC Conference. DNA was recognized for its outstanding implementation of GlobalSign’s suite of Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions, delivered by systems integration partner, Nixu.

“DNA’s ‘MyCompany’ portal project exemplified the ideals of these awards with an innovative IAM implementation that is delivering real business benefits,” said Dave Kearns, senior analyst at KuppingerCole. “GlobalSign’s IAM technology is a critical component of this project and provides a great foundation for DNA to manage user identities and access as they continue to offer more online services to their customers.”

DNA created a corporate self-service portal, “MyCompany,” where its business customers can manage customer account and employees’ mobile services, without having to contact DNA for provisioning. GlobalSign’s IAM solution, integrated with DNA’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, enables extensive self-service, tiered delegated administration, and single sign-on (SSO) functions that improve customer satisfaction, reduce churn and allow DNA to offer new business-to-business and consumer services faster. In the first full year of the portal’s operation, DNA recognized a significant cost savings and reduced the time to register a new corporate customer and provision employee services by 95%.

“It was an honor to receive this prestigious award from KuppingerCole. A lot of hard work and effort has been put into this project by the DNA team, our system integrator, Nixu, and our IAM partner, GlobalSign,” said Taneli Rupponen, Director of IT-production, Integrations and Information security, DNA. “We are very pleased with the results of our ‘MyCompany’ portal, not only for the economic benefits to our business but because it allows us to provide a better service to our customers, and create a unified approach on identity for both corporate and consumer customers.”

Based on the success of the corporate customer portal, DNA has extended its IAM capabilities to its new cloud brokering service, "DNA Pouta," and to consumer services. In the near future, business and consumer customers have the ability to easily register and move between different online services using a single identity – from mobile communications to cloud brokering. GlobalSign’s solutions were proven to be scalable and very reliable in DNA’s corporate online use cases, which allowed DNA to extend the IAM functionality to more than one million consumer customers.

“We are extremely excited for DNA to receive this recognition from KuppingerCole, and proud that it’s based on our IAM solution,” said Charles Sederholm, director of IAM business development for GlobalSign. “DNA has realized some impressive business benefits from its portal based on our IAM technology that are making a positive impact on the company’s reputation and bottomline. We are looking forward to furthering our partnership as they launch additional products and services to their customers.”

GlobalSign’s comprehensive suite of IAM solutions for customer-facing applications enables companies to bring new services online faster and more securely. With GlobalSign IAM solutions, organizations can cut administrative and customer care costs by automating identity processes, improve convenience with verified social identities and provide strong, multi-factor authentication for business-critical transactions.
