I cannot Export my Certificate, the private Key is missing

If you cannot export your certificate it is likely that your private key has been lost. The private key is kept on your computer. You cannot access it directly and once you have lost it you must request a reissue unless you backed up your certificate and private key earlier.

If you are an SSL Certificate customer, generate a new CSR, log in to the GlobalSign Certificate Center with your User ID and password, go to Certificate History, click Edit and a Request Reissue.

If you are an ObjectSign or PersonalSign customer you will need to contact our support team via our Support Request form.

To avoid the above, prior to ordering the certificate:

  1. Run Windows Update
  2. Ensure Internet Options are set to default
  3. clear your SSL cache

Once you have received your certificate from us:

  1. Ensure you are installing it onto the computer you generated the request from
  2. Ensure you are using the same browser you generated the request from
