Generate a Certificate Signing Request (CSR) with Cobalt

Global Support Centre > SSL Certificates > Cobalt > Generate a CSR

To enable SSL on a virtual site:

  1. Go to the Server Management screen.
  2. Click the green icon (Wrench for RaQ4, Pencil for XTR) next to the virtual site on which you want to enable SSL – The Site Management screen will appear.
  3. Click “Site Settings” on the left side.
  4. (Then “General” for XTR)
  5. Click the check box next to Enable SSL.
  6. Click Save Changes.

Generate a self-signed certificate:

Once SSL is enabled, the user must now create a self-signed certificate. The self-signed certificate will be signed later by GlobalSign.

  1. Go to the Server Management screen.
  2. Click the green icon (Wrench for RaQ4, Pencil for XTR) next to the SSL enabled virtual site.
  3. Click “SSL Settings” on the left side.
  4. The Certificate Subject Information table appears.
  5. Enter the following information:
    • Country [AU]: GB
    • State: London
    • Locality: London
    • Organization: GlobalSign
    • Organizational Unit: IT
  6. Select “Generate self-signed certificate” from the pull-down menu at the bottom of the screen.
  7. Click “Save Changes”.
  8. The RaQ4/XTR processes the information and regenerates the screen with the new self-signed certificate in the Certificate Request and Certificate windows.
  9. Copy the entire contents of the CSR, insuring to include
    • -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE REQUEST-----
    • and
    • -----END CERTIFICATE REQUEST-----
