Domain SSL Certificates: Approval Stage - Meta Tag URL

If you are unable to select an Approval E-mail Address to complete the order for a DomainSSL Certificate an alternative option is now avaliable. You can now use a META-tag code and insert this onto your homepage to indicate control of the domain.

If you are not sure how this process works, please read carefully the instructions on this page, so that you can place the code correctly on to your main webpage so you can successfully receive your GlobalSign DomainSSL Certificate.

  1. Start the order process within your GlobalSign Account as normal to place an order for a DomainSSL Certificate.
  2. When you are at the page to select the Approver Email, scroll to the bottom of the page and select the option Approver URL to continue (as shown below).

  3. Select Continue, and finish the order process.
  4. Once completed you will see the META Tag for you to place onto your web page. You will also receive an e-mail with this information and can access this within your GlobalSign account.

  5. The e-mail you receive will also have the META tag and once this has been placed on your webpage a link is avaliable to click on to complete this verification process.

  6. You can also copy and paste the META tag from your GlobalSign Account by viewing the order details, clicking the EDIT button next to the order number. Expand the Approver URL details will show you the META tag to place on to your webpage and a button to click to "Verify my Domain".

  7. The screenshot below will show you where the META tag needs to be placed on your website. This code must be placed on your main page (This would normally be index.html )

  8. Select the details using the radio buttons (as shown in the screenshot below) and then click "VERIFY". If we cannot verify the site, then an error will appear. Check the code has been correctly entered (shown in step 7) and try again.

  9. When it has been successfully verified this will be confirmed on the screen and the certificate will be issued within a few minutes.

  10. You will receive an e-mail confirming the order has been completed and the DomainSSL Certificate details.
