Q1. What is ePKI?
A1: enterprise PKI (ePKI) is a fully managed Public Key Infrastructure platform allowing Organization administrators, ePKI Administrators a method to manage the complete life cycle of client digital IDs sometimes referred to as certificates issued from pre-vetted Organization Name.
Q2: What are some of the functions available to the ePKI Administrators?
A2: ePKI Administrators can issue, cancel, replace, renew and revoke digital certificates issued from their service. ePKI is perfect for small to large organizations that require 24 X 7 availability to managing digital IDs fielded to their employees, contractors, and other affiliated users. Additionally, easy search capability allow for quick access to records.
Q3: How do I order certificates? What is the license model?
A3: ePKI Administrators order digital IDs/Certificates in "Packs". Depending on the product, Packs start as low as quantity (5). IDs are issued to individuals or roles depending on the selected products are non transferrable. However, GlobalSIgn will add an additional 10% of the license pack to the service to accommodate employee attrition and / or support related issues.
Q4: What other costs will my organization occur when signing up for the service?
A4: None. There are no hosting or set up fees associated with the service.
Q5: Where will my ePKI Digital IDs be trusted?
A5: Transactions performed with ePKI digital IDs will be trusted in many popular browsers and operating systems. The two main types of certificate licenses issued from Microsoft and Adobe inherently trusted shared Certificate Authorities are:
1. PersonalSign 2 Pro - Windows trusted IDs for Microsoft Suite Document Signing, Secure email, and secure network access (when configured with a fixed Organization Unit). See product pages for details

Q6: How long does it take to establish an ePKI service?
A6: Typically no more than 5 days assuming the organization details you provide at service set up are valid and verifiable.
Q7: What are the responsibilities of the ePKI Adminstrator?
A7: The ePKI Administrator by accepting the ePKI Agreement, accepts Local Registration Authority responsibilities, and therefore must perform the obligations specified in the governing Certificate Practice Statement http://www.globalsign.com/repository/index.htm . Additionally, ePKI Administrator perform first tier support to their end users that may include distributing USB tokens in the event PDF Signing USB tokens are ordered from the service.
Q8: How do I access my ePKI service?
A8: ePKI is a zero-foot print software as a service; therefore this is nothing required other than a browser to access the service via the Internet. You will be provided a user name and password to access the service.
Q9: Can I have more than one Administrator assigned to the service?
A9: Yes, you may have unlimited Administrators at no additional cost.
Q10: What will my end user experience be like?
A10: End users will receive auto-generated emails from your customized ePKI service that will display the ePKI Administrator contact details. The ePKI Administrator is also able to customize email templates and Portal pages to produce a greater organizational branded experience.
