PersonalSign Class 2 Department Digital ID
PersonalSign 2 Department is a class 2 Digital ID issued to departments. They can be used for a number of secure communications functions, including; secure email (S/MIME), authentication to online services and add digital signatures to Microsoft Office and other electronic documents to protect the document’s integrity and provide assurances of authorship to recipients.
Once the departmental identity is vetted, the identity details are bound to your Digital ID. You can use the Digital ID for a number of PKI enabled solutions:

Secure Email
Protect your identity and email contents from prying eyes and phishing attacks on your departmental email address. |
- Digitally Sign an email and the recipient can be sure it has come from a specific organization and department.
- Encrypt an email and be sure that unauthorized people cannot read it.
- Compatible with all S/MIME compliant email clients such as Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express or Mozilla Thunderbird

Authentication
Digital IDs can be used to securely authenticate you to an online service via the inbuilt SSL VPN capabilities of your browser. |

Document Signing
Use your Digital ID to add digital signatures to Microsoft Office documents, such as Word documents, Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations. By digitally signing a document you can confirm that a particular department is the originator of the document and help prove that the document has not changed since the time it was digitally signed. |
